Birds of Chicago is a duo of married musicians whose fourth album "Love in Wartime" is a genre-defying collection of songs with roots in folk, rock, jazz and soul.

Allison Russel and JT Nero are joined by Luther Dickenson of North Mississippi Allstars as their producer. His experience with Americana music brings out the chemistry of the two singers and surrounds them with a joyous, melodic, heartwarming sound.

Russel says of the title cut: “Any act of love is an act of bravery. These songs are fragments of covenants of trust and understanding. We want to give people some good news and we want them to be able to dance when they hear it”

Birds of Chicago are slowly building their reputation for awe inspiring musical dramatics. “Love in Wartime” only adds to their arsenal.
