Released at the exact moment of 2020’s autumnal equinox, Fleet Foxes’ “Shore” has songs that focus on luminescence in a time of darkness and tranqulity during upheaval. It’s a return to form with some of their most brilliant songs.

Robin Pecknold is the band’s mainstay and performs most of the vocals and instruments, he writes wondrous songs with powerful choruses and produces an intricate acoustic interplay to frame the songs.

The album follows 2017’s “Crack-Up” which had hard to follow and pretentious arrangements but “Shore” is a return to the warm campfire aesthetic of their first two albums.

On Fleet Foxes fourth album “Shore” they fine-tune their earnest folksiness while adding more production elements for an ambitious album that sounds like musically basking in the sun.
