On this week’s Pickin', we pay tribute to the legendary Lester Flatt. He rose to prominence as an original Bluegrass Boy with Bill Monroe’s Band. Later he teamed with Earl Scruggs to form one of the most successful and important Bluegrass bands ever. In the 1970s, he mentored a young Marty Stuart. Today, Lester Flatt is remembered as one of the founding members who helped to launch the genre. Hear the music of Lester Flatt, Sunday at 7:00 p.m. on Pickin. You can also listen online
