Portsmouth elected leaders have not said what they will do with the city's damaged monument. 

Demonstrators beheaded four Confederate statues before pulling one down using a tow rope Wednesday night at the Portsmouth Confederate monument as police watched.

On Monday evening in the tiny, rural town of Montross on the Northern Neck, Republican Congressman Rob Wittman marched with about 100 of his constituents in a peaceful protest of racism and honoring George Floyd.

More than 100 people marched across parts of Norfolk Tuesday night, protesting police brutality, racism and the killing of black Americans including George Floyd in Minnesota.
