If you missed watching the Virginia Media Spelling Bee over the weekend, you missed out on a treat! This year 53 students competed hoping for a chance to move on to the Scripps National Spelling Bee in May. After a tense battle among finalists at the end, this year's champion emerged. Andrew Hoehn, of St. Matthew’s School in Virginia Beach, claimed victory over the other spellers.

Congratulations also goes to our second and third place winners: Lauren King of Peasley Middle School in Gloucester (2nd place) and Faith Stumpf of Berkeley Middle School in Williamsburg.
