Looking for entertainment for the kids or grandkids this summer? WHRO now has a place just for them. After surveying local PBS Kids subscribers on what they would like for a children’s website, WHRO created and launched the WHRO Kids website on June 26. The website provides safe content for children from the ages of 2–8 by providing PBS Kids streaming content, games, and apps. It also features a Parents' Corner where parents will be able to stay updated on local kid-friendly events, contests, and giveaways. Parents can also keep children learning over the summer with the Learn tab, which will feature eMediaVA content in the subject areas of math, history, science, and social science. Older children can click on the Big Kids Stuff tab which will feature safe, educational YouTube videos on science and nutrition. Visit the website at whrokids.org.

A social media contest for naming the WHROKids Owl will take place mid-July. Keep an eye out for your chance to enter!
