The Christopher Newport University Wason Center for Civic Leadership  presents Congresswoman Abigail Spanberger (D), and former Virginia Attorney General State Supreme Court Justice Bill Mims (R), in a moderated discussion on public service and civility in politics. The program is moderated by Lisa Godley and was recorded in front of a live studio audience.

The Wason Center has a 10-year track record of providing citizens and lawmakers unbiased, nonpartisan insight into the policy issues shaping the future of the commonwealth. More than 100 students work side-by-side with talented faculty to produce survey research and political analysis that informs decisions by citizens and lawmakers in Virginia, and increasingly around the country.

Ten years of listening to citizens from every corner of the commonwealth about their concerns and hopes for the future has taught us that Virginia and the nation need a new generation of leaders now more than ever.

As we launch our second decade, the Wason Center is making a transformational commitment toward inspiring the next generation of civic leaders.

Conventional leadership development programs teach students to be better insiders.  We are building new programs that will focus on the hearts and minds of our students as we train them to be values-driven, evidence-based leaders who know how to solve real problems.
