There are no words to convey the sheer sadness we are feeling for the families involved in yesterday’s tragedy in Virginia Beach.

Our hearts are heavy for everyone involved. WHRO Public Media sends our deepest condolences to the families.

On Monday, WHRV 89.5 will feature special programming with an extended edition of HearSay with Cathy Lewis from noon until 2 p.m. so that local officials and residents have an outlet for up-to-date information and conversation.

The days ahead will be hard but we will all mourn together. The people who lost their lives will not be forgotten.
