WHRO Public Media's reporting was featured recently on PBS News Weekend. The video Flooding Farmland: Eastern VA Farmers Navigate Sea Level Rise was produced in collaboration with NOVA. This short documentary explores the threat that rising tides pose to farming on Virginia's Eastern Shore, where agriculture has always been a part of coastal Virginia’s economy. Former WHRO news reporter Sam Turken spoke with several farmers on the coast in the seven-minute film.

The film is one of three produced in collaboration with NOVA as part of a project exploring areas where science and society intersect. The first film in the series produced with NOVA, A Story of Patients, follows a mother's journey as she explores options, including cannabis, to help her son become seizure free. The second film Cannabis Sniffing K-9s: Out of a Job? explores the effect that the legalization of cannabis is having on police dogs.

The films were made possible (in part) by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, a private corporation funded by the American people.
