The new movie Hidden Figures tells the untold  story of three African American women mathematicians who made it possible for many of NASA’s first successful space missions. While the movie focuses on three women, there were several other African American women math geniuses who assisted in the space program’s success. Christine Darden, aerospace engineer and mathematician was one of those women.

On Another View, Lisa Godley recently sat down with Darden to learn more about her experience as a mathematician for NASA. Reminiscent and content about the history she made with her work for NASA, Christine Darden shared what it was really like to do her job in a strictly white male-dominated industry.
