Classroom Connection Lesson Plan Writers

WHRO and the Virginia Department of Education invite educators from various educational experiences and subject matter expertise to join a collaborative team of educators to develop computer science cross-content connections lessons. Classroom connection plans serve as a collection of exemplary instructional resources that model effective teaching practices for implementing the 2024 Computer Science Standards of Learning.

The connection lesson plans will be developed between March – May 2025. Writers will work in grade level (K-8) teams of three. Each team will produce five new cross-discipline exemplar lessons and three revised lessons. Selected writers will be hired as independent contractors and paid by WHRO for work outside school division contract hours.

Please note that chosen candidates must attend an online training session in February 2025 (TBD).
