Join R&B legend Little Anthony, Sha Na Na's Jon "Bowzer" Bauman and producer TJ Lubinsky in this new MY MUSIC special. Watch as the original artists of Doo Wop reunite to pass the torth to the next generation of singers in this sentimental, emotion-packed night of nostalgia. MY MUSIC  searched the country to find a new generation of Doo Wop singers to pay tribute to these veteran artists as they return to the stage for a final celebration. Doo Wop Generations will premiere on Wednesday, March 7 at 8 p.m. on PBS.

“I think of Doo Wop Generations akin to a special family recipe, handed down from great grandparents to grandparents, parents to grandkids—a shared family musical experience that tells the warm and fuzzy stories of the original groups from their start over 60 to 70 years ago as the originals take the stage for the last time,” says Lubinsky. “Over the past several years, we’ve searched the world and held over a thousand auditions to discover a new generation of Doo Wop singers to pay tribute to the original artists as those veterans return for a final celebration.”

Featuring a variety of performances, Doo Wop Generations bridges the two generations in a emotionally charged celebration of Doo Wop. This concert for PBS also highlights performances that tell stories about the original singers — their triumphs, challenges and eternal love for this music — and inspirational recollections from friends and loved ones.

“This show is all about the emotions, the stories and the connections Doo Wop makes to both the original artists—including many original groups and singers that have never appeared on our specials—plus the discovery of new singers who perform the classic songs in their original arrangements, musical keys, and with powerful stage presence taught by (and often performed with) the original groups themselves,” Lubinsky says. “And, for the first time, we’re truly able to honor artists and groups that had disbanded or passed away long before the time we started making these live concert events.”
