While most know Jimmy Buffett's huge hits — "Margaritaville," "Cheeseburger in Paradise," "Son of a Son of a Sailor," "Come Monday" and many, many more — none have ever heard where Jimmy Buffett began his musical journey — until now. Buffett may have taken his listeners to a "Cheeseburger in Paradise," but he first embarked as a musician from his hometown of Mobile, Alabama. Jimmy Buffett: Buried Treasure will air on Saturday, March 3 at 8 p.m. on WHRO-TV.

More than four decades since their creation and being withheld from the general public, Jimmy's earliest recordings have been unearthed and restored, and those gems are being released for the first time. Jimmy Buffett: Buried Treasure takes viewers through the music of Buffett's "pre-beach" years and features revealing accounts of his start as a musician, his early struggles, his determination and the endless days on the road to perfect his craft as a performer who has learned through hard work how to entertain audiences, regardless of size.

In this feature, video montage presentations showcase Buffet's early songs, as well as on-camera stories told by the people in believed in him and recognized his talent and potential. Live performances of some of Buffett's biggest hits are additionally featured, and they reveal how the musician's beginning led to his trajectory toward becoming one of the most joyful and successful music entertainers of all time.
