In June of 2017, WHRV hosted the first “Writer’s Block”, an initiative that features local poets, authors, and story tellers joining musicians in presenting their original work before a live audience for future broadcast and podcast.  From across the region these artists, many who have never before presented their work in public,  have joined us each month in various venues- from the Norfolk Community Farm Market to the WHRO Teleconference Center- to Zeider’s American Dream Theatre, each filled with listeners being taken on a journey of literary and musical discovery.  The featured musicians, many with national touring behind them, have enthralled the audiences with their own story telling performances. The October Writer’s Block expanded to feature student authors presenting their work to an audience of over 200 at Norfolk’s Larchmont Elementary School.  That performance will be featured in a two part series beginning Sunday at 11:00 on 89.5.  Nick Robertson is the musical guest and Nina Brewton is the host.

Tune in to hear the incredible talented students presenting their original literary work.
