A nostalgic look at 1960s London is our theme this week. Based on a true story, Ridley Road provides a fascinating look at the British neo-Nazi hierarchy and the risks the Jewish anti-fascists took to prevent their agenda in 1962 London. At the same time, a British pop/rock television show took the nation by storm in the same city! Designed to be a less formal, youth-based program, Ready, Set, Go featured the audience as dancers; the dancers were selected from London’s clubs with the producers picking the most fashionable dressed youth, ensuring a hip audience that was in tune with the artists. This series is a perfect showcase of the fantastic music scene from that era!

This week, we look at programs based on true stories! First up and in chronological order, we have the Princes in the Tower, which explores the mystery of the disappearance of Edward V and his brother Richard Duke of York in 1480. They were the sons of Edward IV and his Queen Elizabeth Woodville. Their uncle, Richard III, has long been suspected of orchestrating the disappearance.

Next up, we visit 1900s San Francisco during the first occurrence of the bubonic plague in North America, and discover how it deeply affected the residents of Chinatown. Our next program takes us to Hawaii where Duke Kahanamoku, deemed the greatest freestyle swimmer of his time (b.1890-d.1964), revolutionized the sport and led water rescue and surfing advances. An incredible story!

And last but not least, our adventure takes us to Italy where we meet Saverio Barone, a determined young prosecutor who steps in to fight for the innocents caught up in the mafia's 1990s carnage.
