Celebrate 50 years of the illustrious career of singer-songwriter Cat Stevens with this retrospective documentary filmed in London and featuring performances of many of his beloved hits. Stevens, also known as Yusuf, speaks about his fame, his songwriting process and his many life-changing experiences, which include returning to music after a lengthy hiatus. 

Cat Stevens’ first success came in 1966 with two hits: “I Love My Dog” and “Matthew & Son.” During hospitalization for a potentially fatal bout of tuberculosis the following year, Stevens began a process of inner reflection and meditation, reviewing different aspects of his personal life and exploring a new spiritual path. Following his recovery, and with a fresh perspective on the world, Stevens made a profound musical transformation, writing 40 songs. His 1970 album, Tea for the Tillerman, established him as one of the leading singer-songwriters of his generation, with songs such as “Wild World,” “Where Do the Children Play?” and “Hard Headed Woman.” “Morning Has Broken,” “Peace Train” and “Moonshadow” followed in 1971 on his Teaser and the Firecat album.

In 1979, Stevens set his music aside to follow his newfound faith and dedicated his time to his family, education and charity. Now known as Yusuf, he returned to music in 2006 and has since released several new albums.
