America’s reputation as one of the most diverse countries in the world is represented well in the country’s cuisine. Many international dishes have become domestic staples thanks to immigrants introducing their food to American taste buds. Join renowned chef Marcus Samuelsson as he journeys around the United States, exploring the array of tasty dishes and the flavors of international culture brought to America by immigrants.

No Passport Required invites the viewer to partake in a feast of culture. Samuelsson travels around the United States, from Detroit to New York, from New Orleans to Washington, D.C., exploring how migrant communities have introduced and integrated their culture and food to America. Samuelsson, himself an immigrant, takes viewers on a journey through some of the best dining traditions across the world – experiences available right at home.

No Passport Required is a six-part series hosted by critically acclaimed chef Marcus Samuelsson, the man behind world-renowned restaurants like Red Rooster and Marcus. Samuelsson, a UNICEF ambassador and the youngest chef to ever receive a three-star ranking from The New York Times, is himself an immigrant, having been born in Ethiopia and raised in Sweden. No Passport Required, a collaboration between PBS and EATER, airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on WHRO starting July 10.
