Elton John and Brandi Carlile have been collaborating on and off since 2009 and now they have done a whole album together, “Who Believe’s in Angels.” Though they are thirty five years apart in age, they have become very close and that bond is what makes this album special.
Brandi Carlile jokes “I’ve been in a band with Elton John since I was 13, but he only just found out,” and they are joined by Rolling Stones’ producer Andrew Watt and Red Hot Chili Peppers Josh Klinghoffer and Chad Smith.
Brandi and Elton shine while they are harmonizing with each other, backing the other instrumentally or on one of the few solo performances.
There were reportedly some diva moments during the recording that will probably show up on a documentary about the album coming out later this year but that's to be expected. For Brandi Carlile it’s a career achievement and for Elton John, a revitalization.
