The Metropolitan Opera’s 2024-25 Saturday matinee broadcast series continues on April 12 with a live presentation of Mozart’s “Die Zauberflöte – The Magic Flute,” performed in its original German. Tune in to WHRO-FM 90.3 to experience this captivating journey of love and enlightenment.
The stellar international cast is led by American tenor Ben Bliss as Tamino and South African soprano Golda Schultz as Pamina, two characters who must navigate trials of courage and perseverance, with the help of a magical flute.
They are joined by Dutch baritone Thomas Oliemans as the birdcatcher Papageno, American soprano Kathryn Lewek as the Queen of the Night, and Danish bass Stephen Milling as the high priest Sarastro. Maestro Evan Rogister conducts the Met Orchestra and Chorus in an immersive staging by Simon McBurney.
