Pickin on WHRV features Bluegrass great Del McCoury on this week's program. McCoury played with Bill Monroe for a time as a member of the famed "Bluegrass Boys." He also played the honky-tonks of Baltimore and helped establish the Northern Virgini/Washington DZC region as a hotbed for Bluegrass fans. He was won countless IBMA awards and honors and also has taken home two Grammy Awards. He has his own festival "Delfest" named after him. Del McCoury is a national treasure. Tune in for a two-hour tribute to one the greats of the genre. Pickin airs Sunday at 7 on WHRV.
