This grand opera of love and duty set in ancient Egypt features an all-star cast, including soprano Angel Blue in the title role of the Ethiopian princes, a captive in the pharaoh’s court. Tenor Piotr Beczala takes on the role of Radamès, the valiant Egyptian warrior caught in a tragic love triangle, while mezzo-soprano Judit Kutasi portrays Amneris, the pharaoh’s daughter who is also in love with Radamès and is vying for his heart. Baritone Quinn Kelsey appears as Amonasro, Aida’s father and the proud king of Ethiopia.
Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin leads the renowned Metropolitan Opera Chorus and Orchestra in this new production, bringing Verdi’s powerful score to life with grandeur and emotion.
