Don’t Miss Puccini’s ‘Tosca’ This Saturday on WHRO FM 90.3

Join us this Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. for a special broadcast of Giacomo Puccini’s “Tosca” as part of the Metropolitan Opera’s 2024-25 Saturday matinee series.

This gripping opera of love, betrayal, and political intrigue stars Norwegian soprano Lise Davidsen in the title role of Tosca, a passionate diva caught in a dangerous love triangle. British-Italian tenor Freddie de Tommaso makes his network broadcast debut as Mario Cavaradossi, Tosca’s lover and revolutionary hero. Hawaiian baritone Quinn Kelsey brings to life the sinister Baron Scarpia, the corrupt chief of police determined to have Tosca at any cost.

Under the baton of Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin, the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and Chorus perform Puccini’s dramatic score, bringing this intense opera to life. Don’t miss this performance next Saturday at 1 p.m. on WHRO FM 90.3, or listen online.
