The State Bird of North Carolina is the cardinal and the new compilation album “Cardinals at the Window” is designed to help Western North Carolinians who have been affected by Hurricane Helene. 100% of the proceeds from this 135 song fundraiser will be used to help the victims and they are asking for a minimum $10 donation for this wealth of musical rarities and collectables.
The compilation is available for download exclusively on the band camp site and is well worth the donation for the vast array of tracks that have been assembled by artists who are either associated with the region or sympathize.
Most of the songs are previously unreleased live recordings, demos and original songs by the likes of The War on Drugs, The Avett Brothers, MJ Lenderman, Feist, The Decemberists, Phish, Gillian Welch, REM, Nathaniel Rateliff and many, many more. The sweeping depth of the music is comparable to the far reaching tragedy that has befallen the state of North Carolina.
“Cardinals at the Window” is a vast collection of known and unknown artists who have pooled their resources in the best way possible, using music to help heal the region. It’s a stunning and expansive library of songs that inspire and empower anyone listening.
