This innovative course is available free of charge to all public and private schools in Virginia as well as to all of the Commonwealth’s home schools, offering a valuable tool for educators seeking to enrich their science curriculum, thanks to the funding from Jane Batten through the Batten Environmental Education Initiative.

Developed and reviewed by Virginia Environmental Science teachers, this course aligns with the Virginia Department of Education’s Environmental Science content guidelines. It features six media-rich modules that provide an in-depth exploration of essential environmental science concepts, combining captivating learning objects, dynamic media, scientific investigations, and authentic assessments to foster deep and meaningful learning experiences. It includes a performance assessment, a culmination of a course-long project where students put environmental science concepts into practice.
