Glass Animals had a massive hit with a song from their last album which led to the ultimate question of how to follow that. Their new album “I Love You So F***ing Much” answers with a gigantic production of sci-fi space-rock, synth-pop, trip-hop and indie-rock mashed together in a self-aware and confident follow-up.
Lead singer Dave Bayley’s androgynous falsetto croons above the rippling guitars and shimmering synths with pop-culture references while the song’s arrangements make musical references to EDM, nineties rock and 50’s doo-wop background vocals.
“I Love You So F***ing Much” is their fourth album and continues their unique sound with many of the songs reaching into darker themes then they have visited before.
With a knack for catchy earworms, Glass Animals continues to forge ahead with an innovative and exhilarating album that masterfully blends eclectic sounds intricate rhythms and thought provoking lyrics. It’s a worthy successor to what they have done before.
