Another View Producer Lisa Godley, Host Barbara Hamm Lee, and original roundtable pundits Roger Chesley and Carol Pretlow

On July 11, 2011 Another View debuted on WHRV. The 30 minute television show became a 60 minute radio program. The show has been an outlet for artists, politicians, community activists, story-tellers, business owners, authors, and everyday members of the community who have shared informative, heartwarming, and insightful stories and news about the African American community. And, what better way to start year 14 than with members of the original roundtable. Pundits Roger Chesley, contributing columnist for the Virginia Mercury and Freelance Writer and former columnist and editorial writer for the Virginian-Pilot and Daily Press. Carol Pretlow is an Associate Professor of Political Science at Norfolk State University and currently, is working on research related to experiences in her home community of Smithfield, Virginia. And, Dr. Wil LaVeist, former columnist and talk radio host in Hampton Roads and now educator, author, and media consultant based in Philadelphia. CONGRATULATIONS TO ANOTHER VIEW! Another View can be heard Thursdays at 12 on WHRV and available on demand at whrv.org/another view

Barry Graham used to arrive at WHRO with a briefcase full of papers and lesson plans. For 32 years he taught US and Virginia Government in the Virginia Beach Public Schools. While teaching was always his first love, radio was a close second. While attending Old Dominion, Barry was program director at WODU, the college radio station. After graduating, he came to WHRO as an overnight announcer. Originally intending to stay on only while completing graduate school, he was soon hooked on Public Radio and today is the senior announcer on WHRV. In 2001, Barry earned his Ph.D in Urban Studies by writing a history of WHRO and analyzing its impact upon local education, policy and cultural arts organizations.
