Apollo's Fire

Prepare for an evening of exquisite classical music on WHRO-FM 90.3 with Raymond Jones as your guide. This Saturday at 8:00 PM, tune in to "This Just In" for three hours of new classical releases carefully curated to delight you.

The evening begins again with the renowned Baroque ensemble Apollo’s Fire, presenting the final installment of Heinrich von Biber’s “Mystery Sonatas”. Then, moving from the Austrian Baroque to the French, listeners will be treated to the delicate and intricate harpsichord music of François Couperin, whose works are celebrated for their elegance and expressive range.

The program continues with the Emerson Quartet performing Beethoven’s String Quartet No. 12, one of Beethoven’s late quartets. And finally, in honor of the ongoing “Bruckner Year” celebrating the 200th anniversary of his birth, the Southwest German Radio Orchestra of Stuttgart, under the direction of Eliahu Inbal, will perform Anton Bruckner’s Symphony No. 7.

Join us this Saturday at 8:00 PM on WHRO-FM 90.3 - or stream online - for "This Just In," and experience the latest and greatest in the classical music world, from Baroque masterpieces to Romantic symphonies.
