The Best of Pickin brings you a late Friday night of both traditional and progressive bluegrass music with selections from Dry Branch Fire Squad, The Cherryholmes Band and their final release from 2020 entitled “Common Threads,” Chicago based Special Consensus, and two bands making a stop in Virginia Beach in July- Arkansauce, and The Kitchen Dwellers. Also, music from the Steep Canyon Rangers when they teamed with Steve Martin for the “Rare Bird Alert Release.” The band had gone out with Martin, opening for him on his “The Crow” Tour. That exposure brought them into the national spotlight and In 2013, their album Nobody Knows You won the Grammy Award for Best Bluegrass Album. It’s a solid Friday night of Bluegrass.
