Join us twice this weekend to hear great selections of Bluegrass music.
Friday, 11 p.m.
On this week's Best of Pickin', we will feature some of the great female voices of Americana. We'll hear from Rhonda Vincent, Laurie Lewis, Claire Lynch ( her "If Wishes Were Horses" was the very first song we played on Pickin' over 20 years ago!), Sierra Hull, and Allison Krauss. Krauss has won 27 Grammy's, the fourth most by any artist including, one for her beautiful 2012 release Paper Airplane which won Best Bluegrass Album. Tune in for two solid hours of great female singers on The Best of Pickin'. Friday night at 11 on WHRV.
Sunday, 7 p.m.
Pickin' on WHRV this week will feature what we had intended to bring you last week, showcasing Bluegrass greats captured live in performance ( we decided to instead showcase the music of The Seldom Scene due to the recent passing of banjo great Ben Eldridge). We'll hear from Flatt and Scruggs live at Carnegie Hall and Bill Monroe at his own Bean Blossom Festival, as well as plenty of others- all "Live in Performance." Tune in and feel as if you are in the front row! Pickin' comes your way Sunday night at 7 on 89.5
