This week’s Best of Pickin' continues to showcase the progressive side of Bluegrass music with selections from Greensky Bluegrass, Yonder Mountain String Band, Mipso, Alison Krauss and Union Station and plenty of others, including The Canadian Folk Fusion band The Duhks. Though no longer a working band, they have a legendary loyal following that quickly emerged after their debut 2003 album Your Sons and Daughters. That release was nominated for a Juno award and led them to a contract with Sugar Hill Records. They later worked with Tim O’Brien and Bela Fleck and were nominated for a Grammy award in 2007. Tune in and hear for yourself why many people became instant fans of The Duhks. The Best of Pickin' airs Friday nights at 11 on WHRV. You can also listen online.
