In January Margo price released the album “Strays”, getting rave reviews for the collection of songs that push the envelope of Americana music. Now, she’s released “Strays 2” a companion recording that stands on it’s own but also expands the first album’s mythology.
“Strays 2” is divided into three, three song acts much like a theatrical play. The first act is songs about her youth, including an autobiographical song about how she and her husband and collaborator Jeremy Ivey met and fell in love
Act two is made up of more middle age songs, cynical and piercing. Like the first album, Mike Campbell of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers joins her for one of the songs about the transgressions of adulthood.
The final is about reckoning, looking back on the past and trying to make sense of it all.
Margo Price has had a busy and fulfilling year and she closes it out with the second part of what she started at January. She is an artist who has the freedom to explore her own adventurous spirit and on "Strays 2" she is taking full advantage of it.
