Cory Bigsby has been indicted for the murder of his 4-year-old son Codi, according to WTKR.

Bigsby reported the child missing in January 2022. Later, Hampton Police stated he was the only person of interest in Codi's disappearance.

According to court documents obtained by WTKR, Bigsby has been indicted with one count of murder and another count of concealing a body.

The documents further list the date of those crimes as "on or around June 18, 2021." That was seven months before Bigsby called the police one morning in January 2022 to report that he couldn't find his son.

Codi has never been found, though some in the Hampton community have strived to keep the search going and his memory alive.

The case has gained widespread attention and the investigation has expirienced setbacks, like when detectives failed to allow Bigsby to talk to an attorneywhen he asked for one during an interview.

At Bigsby's last court appearance, he was deemed unfit to stand trial and was remanded to Eastern State Hospital in Williamsburg.

However, Wavy reports that a new evaluation shows that Bigsby is now fit to stand trial.

The world changes fast.
