In this British drama starring Sidney Poitier and Christian Roberts, an engineering job applicant is offered a teaching post at a school in the inner city of London. After accepting the position on an interim basis, he learns the previous teacher resigned due to the antics of the rambunctious high schoolers. Can he win them over?

A made-for-television sequel, To Sir, with Love II, was released nearly three decades later, with Poitier reprising his starring role.
