During the middle part of the day, WHRO FM continues its array of engaging and entertaining music, from Baroque to the present, music fashioned to serve as accompaniment to your workday and lunch break. Enjoy the world’s greatest music at home, at the office or in your car, mid-day on 90.3 FM.

Enjoy the “A Little Something for Everyone” segment at noon. As the title suggests, every listener will find something to enjoy, music to bring back memories, music that gently pushes the classical boundaries, but that is always in good taste. Tune in for great music and a sense of fun each weekday from 10AM - 3PM.

The friendly voice heard during the mid-day on WHRO-FM belongs to Shari Barbour.  Her radio experience and love of music make her a perfect part of the 90.3 team.

Shari came to us from public station WNED-FM in Buffalo, New York, where she was host and producer of the Morning Classics program. Shari is no stranger to the Old Dominion, having  received music degrees from James Madison University and served on the Music Faculties of Hollins, Roanoke, and Lynchburg Colleges as well as Radford University.  Shari has worked for WVTF in Roanoke where she also studied Radio and Television Technology.  She has studied and taught flute and guitar, and has performed on those instruments in concert.

Shari’s musical tastes cover a broad spectrum and listeners can expect the unexpected each weekday, especially during the “A Little Something for Everyone” segment at noon.  Tune in for great music and a sense of fun each mid-day.

She traces her love of classical music to a New York Philharmonic concert, conducted by Leonard Bernstein, heard on a class trip when she was nine years old. Shari resides in Norfolk.
