Twenty one years ago Ron Fetner was the first in studio guest on the Acoustic Highway. The local singer-songwriter took up the invitation to appear on the program and present his original work. Since that first visit, Ron has become a very good friend to us here at WHRV. He has performed numerous times on the Acoustic Highway, Out of the Box, and Hunter at Sunrise. Ron has been the featured musical performer on Writer’s Block, and has even answered phones for the station during the membership drives. Ron has been recognized at the prestigious Kerrville New Folk Festival, The Mid-Atlantic Song Contest, Merlefest, Falcon Ridge and the Tucson Folk Festival. He has released six CDs and is considered as one of the very best singer-songwriters in the region. Ron Fetner is a true fan favorite who will draw you in with every lyric. Just as he helped to launch in-studio performances 21 years ago, Ron Fetner returns to the Acoustic Highway this week as the first guest in 16 months to play live on the Highway.
