Some voters woke up in the wee hours of the morning to make it to the polls Nov. 3. Officials expect lines to stretch long into the evening. Registered voters who are in line by 7 p.m. will be allowed to vote.

Newport News voters, like all voters in Virginia, will decide on a redistricting amendment, created partially in response to a gerrymandering court case that included several Newport News voting districts.

Shandra Tyus at Grove Baptist. She supports the casino coming to Portsmouth because she thinks the degree programs at TCC will transfer to employment there. She supports Paul Battle for Mayor because of his past record of working in the community.
