The study is reported by Navy Times. It was of nearly 900-thousand service members who flew or worked on aircraft between 1992 and 2017. It showed that aircrews had an overall 24 percent higher rate of cancer of all types - an 87 percent higher rate of melanoma.

Ground crews had a three percent greater rate of all types of cancer - but a 19 percent higher rate of brain and nervous system cancer…women had a seven percent higher rate of breast cancer.

This will lead to an even more extensive review - this study was mandated by congress in the 20-21 defense spending bill.
