On this week’s Pickin' on WHRV, it’s the music of The Lonesome Pine Fiddlers. Formed in the late 30s, the band featured many of the first generation Bluegrass stars including Bobby Osborne, Jimmy Martin and Ezra Cline. The band would spurn countless musicians into other major acts including Bill Monroe and Ralph Stanley. The band was inducted into the IBMA Hall of Fame in 2009 and today is fondly remembered as a pioneer in the early days of Bluegrass music. Join us Sunday at 7:00 for The Lonesome Pine Fiddlers on Pickin'.
