Segment A: The Pre-school Debate
Virginia Governor Tim Kaine continues his push for expansion of state-funded preschool, despite tight economic times and Virginia's budget shortfall. The program would cost $125 million annually. Segment B: Power of the Pen
Has technology made penmanship a dying art?  As computers replace pencils and pens as the communication tools of choice and schools spend shorter amounts of time on writing instruction, we'll talk about a new study by Vanderbilt University professor Steve Graham that finds a majority of primary-school teachers believe students with fluent handwriting produced written assignments that were superior in quantity and quality and resulted in higher grades.
