FROM THE HEADLINES: ABSTINENCE VS. SAFE SEX
The federal government has invested millions of dollars in sex-education programs for public schools that emphasize abstinence. Yet, according to a recent study ordered by Congress, students who took part in sexual abstinence programs were just as likely to have sex as those who didn't. Guests: Llew Roberts, nationally certified as a sexuality educator; Lakita Garth, social commentator and abstinence speaker; writer and women’s rights activist Jennifer Baumgardner; and Laura Sessions Stepp, author of “Unhooked: How Young Women Pursue Sex, Delay Love and Lose At Both”.
