HEARSAY WITH CATHY LEWIS CELEBRATES 10TH ANNIVERSARY

Norfolk:  HearSay with Cathy Lewis, WHRV 89.5FM’s noontime call-in talk show, is celebrating its 10th anniversary!  Cathy Lewis has been the show’s host since its premier broadcast in October 1996.  The program has had three producers: Betty Luse (1996-2002), Erin Wickersham (2002-2005) and current producer, Karla Martin (2005-).  Michelle Kim is associate producer.

Over the course of the last decade, HearSay with Cathy Lewis has given the Hampton Roads community a forum in which to exchange ideas, share thoughts and talk to the experts about a wide variety of topics, from gardening to community affairs, from movies to politics, from books to medicine, from religion to education.

The program has received numerous awards from the Virginia Association of Broadcasters, and both the show and its host are included in all area publications’ “best of” editions.

“We are delighted that HearSay has reached this milestone anniversary,” said Cathy Lewis.  “When we first conceived of the show ten years ago, we knew that the people of Hampton Roads had a lot on their minds.  It’s been a real privilege to provide a space for them to ask their questions and express their opinions.”  WHRO Chief Operating Officer Regina Brayboy added, “We’re very proud of HearSay, which continues to inspire civil discourse throughout Hampton Roads.  HearSay fulfills a vital part of WHRO’s mission, allowing us to convene the community in significant discussions about issues that affect us all as citizens.”

HearSay with Cathy Lewis is heard every Monday through Thursday at 12 noon on WHRV 89.5FM.
