WHRO TV15 CHILDREN’S PROGRAMMING LINEUP INCREASES RATINGS
PBS Kids Block Credited for Increased Viewing

Norfolk:  WHRO TV15 is experiencing a rise in daytime ratings due to a new lineup of children’s programming that includes the PBS Kids block of Curious George, Clifford the Big Red Dog, Dragon Tales and It’s a Big Big World. 

Lori Holton Nash, host of WHRO TV15’s new PBS Kids programming block, which airs Monday through Friday from 8:00-10:00a.m., is a popular addition to the morning hours.  Nash talks to young viewers about the shows they’ve just seen during breaks between programs. 

“While we aren’t driven by ratings, we’re excited that we’re serving more children with high-quality, educational programming,” said Channel 15 Television Programming Manager Linda Delgado.

Children’s programming accounts for 36% of all content on WHRO-TV15.  Channel 15 broadcasts 17 different children’s programs during weekday time slots. All programs are designed to provide the highest quality programming and learning environment for children to stimulate their curiosity, encourage interaction and foster their imagination.   All 17 of these programs – and more – are also aired daily on WHRO Kids!, the WHRO all children’s channel on Cox DT-108.
