WHRO, NARO THEATRE TO PREVIEW KEN BURNS WWII DOCUMENTARY
45-Minute Sneak Preview of Series is Free and Open to the Public

Norfolk:  On Sunday, September 9th, at 7:30pm, at the Naro Expanded Cinema on Colley Avenue in the Ghent section of Norfolk, WHRO will host a special 45-minute preview of THE WAR, a monumental Ken Burns documentary series about World War II.  The screening is free and open to the public.

THE WAR is a seven-part series directed and produced by PBS documentary filmmakers Ken Burns and Lynn Novick, which will be aired on WHRO TV15, beginning on September 23rd at 8pm.  THE WAR tells the story of the Second World War through the personal accounts of a handful of men and women from four quintessentially American towns. The series explores the most intimate human dimensions of the greatest cataclysm in history — a worldwide catastrophe that touched the lives of every family on every street in every town in America — and demonstrates that in extraordinary times, there are no ordinary lives.

Major funding for WHRO’s broadcast of THE WAR is provided by Patriots Colony at Williamsburg.
