Play Your Heart Out Third Annual Music Showcase is looking for emerging solo artists or duets performing their original music.

WHRO Public Media’s Emerging Leaders Board loves bringing new and exciting events that connect the Hampton Roads community to public media content. They are once again bringing this exciting music showcase to Norfolk. The Play Your Heart Out Music Showcase features emerging artists performing their original music.

Want to be a part of the show? 

• You must be a solo musician or a duet performing your own music.
• Your music must be your own original work.
• All music must be able to be performed live using acoustic or electric instruments (no soundtracks).
• You may have recorded it previously or played it publically. It may not be a new interpretation of previously recorded music by another artist.

Read the full guidelines and apply to perform. Deadline to apply is April 27, 2024.

Applications will be reviewed and musicians will be selected by a team of WHRO staff and members of the Emerging Leaders Board. All decisions are final.

Musicians will be notified of the status of their application by May 24.

Performers must be available for the event on June 27, 2024.

*Emerging artists are not established as well-known local musicians and need to, or are just starting to, develop an audience and local awareness of their music.
